Can anyone recommend a good USB scanner or my laptop? I have looked at the Canon Lide 80 but would appreciate anyone experience with it, or an equivalent spec scanner

Thanks Alan

Thanks Gandolf but I was really looking for peoples experiences with them.

I've been using scanners since they first came on the market as a dreadfull hand unit, but we though it was great. Since then, been through about five or more.
My latest is a Canon 8000F which is quick and fault free. It produces perfect reproductions every time but I know it's a bit expensive.
Looking through the specs of Canon, I note that the 5000F is virtually the same apart from the facility of scanning blocks of 35mm transparencies.

I have a Canon Lide 20, very good results. Works off USB, no power supply needed. The expert on the Lide 80 is Djohn but he obviously hasn't read this posting yet, but he will!!
