HI everyone this is my first time on PC advisor I hope someone can help.

I've just bought a new pc running Win XP Home with SP2 update. My pc will not accept my scanner software. After contacting Logitech it appears that they don't have any drivers for the XP. It runs fine on 95 & 98 but SETUP.DLL will not accept the software. Can anybody suggest something else to do. I am pretty certain that without the appropriate driver I'm stuck with a scanner I can't use.

Many Thanks, hopefully! Steve

I am sure you will be directed by one of us to a site to find drivers for all sorts of devices.

You may well be in for a long and fruitless search.

Scanner drivers[TWAIN} are highly specific to each model of device and if the manufacturer has not provided a driver for XP that is because usually the firmware in the scanner will not cope.
So it is in all probabilty going to be a new scanner for you.

Here is one thing to try
Go to 'My Computer'
Click on 'Help'
In the question field type 'compatability'
Select make old program work on XP
Run the Compatability Wizard
click on select from a list
Click on the scanner program [it is installed?]
Select 1.st 95/8
follow the 'Nexts'
Ig the progam works it will show start screen
simply go OK and then try it.
It it does not GO back and click on 2000
repeat and see what happens.
