Can anyone recommend any software that can scon various handwritten notes easily converting to text

You could try the OCR that came with your scanner. But very doubtful whether any OCR could read handwriting successfully.

Why not try the free version of ABBYYFineReader if you have - or can borrow - on the Personal Computer World January 2004 cover disk?

To properly update it though requires a 34MB download although it is still usable as provided....:-(

Fortunately my son has broadband...:-))
