Scan Disc

Every time my computer starts up it endeavours to run 'scan disc'

Does anyone out there know how to stop this from hapening?

However, if you do wish to start your computer, go to Programs, Startup and remove Scandisk if it is there. Otherwise, go to Programs, System Tools, Scheduled tasks and delete it from the list scheduled tasks.

All of this assumes that you do exit Windows properly before switching off your computer. Wait until you see the message that says, "It is now safe to switch off your computer."

Providing Shutdown isn't accomplished by the motherboard...:-)

However, unless as Pesala explains if Scandisk is scheduled to run on bootup, the program will be seeking to cure a problem.

If terminating its attempts to run proves the solution then you have, hopefully, no problem(s) elsewhere..:-)
