An extermal hard drive of 300GB will easily hold the 50 DVDs.

Get a program like DVD Shrink (google will find it) and it will rip the DVDs to the hard disk for you.

sorry I dont mean to interupt dont get me wrong I have been thinking about doing this sort of thing with my vast DVD collection but I have been a bit worried about the copyrite implications, does it not break copyrite rules if I copy my DVD collection to my pc, even as back up, because even though I have paid for the DVD I don`t have the permission of the I think say the film or makers permission to do so, So I am breaking the copyrite and creating a pirate copy, im not sure.
also is the program DVD shrink classed as pirate copy software as far as I can make out.
