Saving Internet Explorer settings in Windows XP

I am having trouble with Internet Explorer 'forgetting' my settings.
What happens is when I go to CONTROL PANEL > INTERNET SETTINGS > TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES > SETTINGS and select under 'Check for newer versions of stored pages' EVERY VISIT TO THE PAGE (to aid in viewing pages in this forum) when I restart Internet Explorer it automatically reverts back to AUTOMATICALLY.

I cannot press the APPLY button as it is greyed out so this could be the reason why IE forgets my preferences!
Please note that I am using the version of Internet Explorer that is part of AOL so this may be the cause?
Any advice anyone?

There is no 'greyed out' apply button on that page. Just click on OK.

Thanks. I do click on OK but when I re-open IE it 'forgets' the setting!

Perhaps it is aol at fault then. Sorry.

No probs and there is no need to apologise!

I will however leave this thread open a bit longer in case someone who uses AOL has the same problem!

this won`t help you but I use AOL and just done what you can`t.

I will close now as it looks that I will just have to live with it and it isn't too much hassle clicking on an option in IE settings!
Thanks to everyone.
