saving to floppy or CD changes file name to CAPs

I've just bought a new PC with Windows XP Home edition. I've not got this networked with my other PCs yet so I'm transfering files via floppy or CD. When I do the file names from lower case to upper case. I have been unable to find a 'settings' page to stop this. Can anyone tell me how to stop this?

I manage a lot of web sites so changing case is a real problem as most web servers are case sensitive and renaming dozens of files takes ages.

Thanks - scud

It's a guess but could it possibly be coming from a Win98 source computer where "Allow all upper...." is ticked in Folder Options, View.
