SATA Raid Question

  Me - Version 1.2 RC3 06:58 30 Jul 04

I have 2, 80Gb SATA disks on a RAID 0 array.

I need to unplug them both as I am re-homing my system in a new case.

Do I need to make sure that the same hard disk is plugged into the same plug on the motherboard or does it matter if i mix it up and plug it into the wrong one?

I tnink you will need to carefully ensure they are connected the same way or a broken RAID array may be reported. If that happens you will have to a full reinstall.

Modern RAID supports hot plugging,if you connect them up in the original state, everything will be fine, but even if you got them mixed up, don't worry, you may just receive an error message saying "Incomplete Raid set, Please press Ctrl+S or Ctrl I" depending on what type of controller you use, then you'll see Conflict on the Raid Bios panel, just solve the Conflict there, reboot and you'll be fine.
