SATA Raid 0 - sometimes XP wont start

  oursoulsdad 20:33 14 Dec 04

Windows XP running happy with various programs and one SATA HDD. Installed 2nd HDD, hit F4 on bootup and told it to setup mirrored 2nd HDD. (Both SATA HDD exactly same.)

1) How can I tell that it is working? On boot up, it says I have mirrored drives, but there are no messages to say 1st drive is now copied to second drive.

2) Main problem: About 1 in 3 bootups get to point where first glimpse Windows XP logo on black then PC restarts. It usually goes to option window for SAFE, Normal, etc. Sometimes, SAFE works and, on reboot, all is well. Other times nothing seems to work. Turn off. Wait 20 secs, and bingo, all is well.

Any ideas?
