SATA PROBLEMS

Ok following on from my last post. click here

Right, went out and bought an IDE Drive to satisfy my windows install

However, my SATA drive is still not being recognised as a useable hard disk, it IS listed in device manager, but I don't know how to get it from being there to being in "My Computer" as a useable drive.

Any Ideas?

Are you sure it is not hidden?

If you are using XP go into control panel, admin tools and get the drive manager up.

Then find out the drive location, normally: C:
Then go to start > run and type: C:\ and open it up.

If it is inaccessable there is a problem.

Also, are you sure it is connected to a SATA board or have a controller card for it?

Are you booting from this drive? and is it shown in the BIOS?

Regards,
Gareth

Gaz, you're a star mate!

Checked Disk Management and there it was! Strange, I'm sure I had checked beforehand and it wasn't there!

Anyway thanks 4 the help!
