Sata Drives

I have just built a new pc with a gigabyte mobo GA-7VT600-1394 with a maxtor 120gb Sata Hdd I cannot see it in the bios, and I cannot load Win XP 'cause it says I haven't got a hard drive can anybody help please?

You MUST load the SATA drivers before the drive will be seen from either within the Bios OR windows.

Load the SATA drivers onto a floppy disk (From either the Motherboard CD or download them from the manufacturers site) and then when you start to install Windows hit the F6 key "Install a third party raid driver" - pop the floppy into the drive and let it do its thing. Windows will then see the SATA drive and install to that.

Also check whether there is a jumper onboard you have to alter
