I bought a new motherboard with SATA on it

Do I have to use a drive on each output for it to work correctly

Can I use just 1 because I only have 1 hard drive.

you say that you have only one hard drive, is it IDE or SATA. IDE will not connect to SATA cable, just the normal IDE cable. if its SATA, then you will have to go into bios and set it to boot from SCSI device i believe.

yes ya pc will work ok with one hard drive but read ya amnual if ya drive is SATA.

It will work with only one drive - try not to confuse things though by putting it on the SATA2 header!

You can get a convertor for a normal ATA 133 drive.

or are you asking if you need two drives to make use of a RAID SATA?
