Samsung SM226BW and Nvidia 7600GT?

I want to buy a 22" monitor, and I have decided to get an SM226BW but I was told that my card which is an NVidia 7600GT would not handle playing games at 1680x1050 resolution. Is that true and would it be worth it for me to invest in the monitor knowing that? Would it give some problems with playing DVDs or other use?

I'm quite sure that the 7600GT will play games at this resolution, what I don't know is the frame rate you'll get. DVDs etc will be fine. I use a SM205BW at 1680 x 1050 with a GeForce 6200 and have no problems with DVD's, but I've not tried it on gaming.

That is the maximum resolution, so I suppose I can change the resolution just to play games. And I suppose it will depend on the games I am playing. The only one I might have problem with is X3.

I think you should be OK. Have a look at these tests on a GeForce 7600 click here

it depends on the games you play. you certainly will find a frame rate hit although try playing with the settings turned down. doing this though defeats the purpose of buying such a monitor

Well, I'll soon find out, I will get my new SM226BW monitor saturday.
I hope that the secret service menu will show me which panel I have and that I will be able to download the right colour profile for it.
Thank you all for your help.
