Samsung Q10 Nbook going to sleep and not waking up

I use a Samsung Q10 notebook with windows XP professional.
When I use the notebook in the dock everything is fine but when I take the notebook off the dock then the problem starts
If I allow the notebook to stay inactive for 10 minutes then the security screen appears. I can at this stage get back in with out problems. However if I leave it a further 10 mins then the notebook goes into hyberbation. It should re activate by pressing once the start button. What actually happens is that when the start button is pressed the system does start but in slow motion. It was take 5 mins just to get the password screen to apprear and then a minute for each key stroke.
I have to close the system down by pressing the start button for 5 seconds which immediately turns every off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
