Samba problems (MDK 10)

Hi again, trying to get XP to see MDK_10 shares.

Installed Samba by using the "urpmi -a samba" command which ran OK...

edited the "smb.conf" file to add workgroup and netBIOS names...

Trying to tell Samba to track changes in passwords by uncommenting the lines:

unix password sync = yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u etc, etc

now, when i attempt to move all the passwords into the Samba passwords file with the command:

"cat /etc/passwd | mksmbpasswd.sh > /etc/samba/smbpasswd"

i get an error:

"bash:mksmbpasswd.sh: command not found"

did a "find /-name mksmbpasswd.sh but mdk_10 didn't find it...

also tried the command "rpm -q samba" which states "package samba is not installed" but when i do "urpmi -a samba" it states that "all packages are installed" ..?

what a learning curve, been on a few Mandrake help sites and nothin seems to work...

also rebooted, logged on as SU...

any help, greatly appreciated...
