Safe to remove MS Updates Programs once installed?

Running my Add/Remove programs utility and ticking to include updates in the listing, I have lots of downloaded updates that have been successfully installed but are still sitting there. They include updates for XP, .net, security and Office. As they have been installed, is it safe to delete them now or should I store them somewhere?

Don't remove them using the Add/Remove as that will remove the update and reset the PC to its prior condition, Their presence in the Add/remove is really to enable you to delete an update, should it prove buggy or incompatible.
Simple option is to untick the Show Updates box and ignore them, but if you're happy the update is stable and want to clear the backup file and associated undeleter then try click here Remove Hotfix backup.
