safe mode in xp. How do you do that?

My computer is having a really bad day. I think starting safe mode is a good idea but i don't know what this means or how to do it. Anyone help?

Restart. Keep tapping the F8 key just before the Windows screen loads.

Use arrow keys to select Safe Mode from the menu then press Enter.

This starts just the bare bones of Windows with low screen resolution so don't worry if the screen looks odd.

will start with no device drivers loaded. These are very often responsible for computer crashes and freezes and loading a safe, stable version of Windows enables you to get to the parts of the operating system that may need reconfiguring.

To start the machine in safe mode press the F8 key as it boots. Then select Safe mode from the list of options.

Ps if f8 dosent work for you then use f5 instead.

Yep, F5 should get you straight into Safe Mode.

PS - what's the problem?
