Safe Mode

I'm having a prob starting my pc in safe mode, it is an Advent with XP-Home installed. Holding doen the F8 key at bootup just results in booting straight into normal mode. The pc works fine otherwise but being able to boot in safe mode is essential in removing some trojan files from windos/sys32 as they cannot be deleted by the normal method.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Try clicking rather than holding down the key after the intial bootup page appears until the Safe Mode etc choices page comes up.

Thanks, will try that.

You may be one who has to use the Control key rather than F8 for the particular Bios - if so press and hold after the initial bootup and memory bleep.
