Hi, I recently purchased a cable which goes from the s video slot on my laptop to the scart connection on my tv. I presumed that it would be as simple as putting the tv on av as normal but I cannot get anything on the tv screen, what am I doing wrong ? My laptop is an Acer and it has media centre on there but I have never used its features.

Regards

I did a google with 's video slot on my laptop to the scart connection on my tv' and came up with this amongst others click here you could do the same and take your pick of the answers.

On your desktop, right click, select Properties and click on the settings tab.

Depending on your video card, you should have options to display on your monitor, tv or both.

You probably need to use the AV channel (either 1 or 2) on your TV set.

Also check that the S-Video to Scart lead has the red and black audio connections as well and that the Scart plug is two-way or the output is from S-Video to Scart.
