I HAVE A MEDION 8080 PC WITH A RADION 9800 GRAPHICS CARD
I plugged an s-video cable (expensive one)in card and then into tv via a s-video to scart adaptor the picture is very but is in black and white

It means that your TV does not support s video input

A lot of tv's do support S-Video/S-Vhs quiet often though you have to configure the scart to do this. If you tv has two scarts, look near them sometimes it will be printed near the socket. What make of tv is it?

have moved it but makes no difference every now and again get slight colour but with a few wavy lines
