Runtime error and no debuggers available

  Old Vet 10:39 15 Jul 06

On some sites notably Google maps a runtime error appears - do I wish to debug? When I click on 'yes' I am told no Jit debuggers are available - and then another runtime error appears with the same message.

With Google maps the map says 'loading' but it doesn't.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

try going to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced

and check Disable Script Debugging

and uncheck Disaply a notification abt every script error

apply and close IE

reopen and now check for the problem

Thanks very much. Been there, done that and now no runtime error messages appear. But the map says loading - and doesn't!

Going for a hot shower!

Old Vet,

it may be possible, you need the latest java release.

Thanks again. How do I get it?

Old Vet,

Again thanks; done all this, got the latest Java and the blessed map still says it's loading but doesn't. I also followed the advice on the Google maps help site, again to no avail.

Try a different browers, for example, Firefox from Mozilla.

Yet again, thanks. Firefox now doing all it should. But I still don't understand why all this should have started up out of the blue, about 10 days ago.

I don't really think the question has been RESOLVED, but the sickeness has been cured. There must be another angle to this.

Can you try a system restore to 10 days ago before the problems began?
