Runtime error - Internet Explorer

  mbogey 19:54 25 Sep 05

When I try to launch Internet Explorer I get a Runtime error in a new window (MS Visual C++ Runtime library - this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way...)and the browser won't launch. System restore solves it for a while but then it happens again. I share the home pc with another user who has no problems. How can I resolve this?

Try uninstalling the Google Toolbar, if you have it installed, mbogey.

for the tip Diodorus Siculus. I didn't specify originally that I'm running XP SP2 - the MS advice for those users seems to be to run updates, instructions for repair of Internet Explorer / Outlook only being available to XP / pre-XP setups. I could be wrong?!

have uninstalled Google toolbar as you suggest - so far so good...

Thanks VOG.
Didn't know anything about windows file protection or system file checker before now! Anyone having similar problems, try reading VOG's link above.
