runtime error

can anyone help?

I am running windows XP pro sp1 with an athlon XP 2000+ with 512mb ddr etc.

Today I came across an error message which occurs when I try to open My Computer, My Documents, and others. The message appears in a window titled: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library,
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Windows\Explorer.exe
abnormal program termination

This message appears on 3 of 4 accounts used on my computer.

Also, can anyone tell me why Internet Explorer only works on the account where the above message is not viewed - although I have had this problem since I installed XP.

Try running system file checker from the administrator acc. Go to

and type

sfc /scannow

You will need the winXp disk.

You may find that you need to download all the updates from M/soft again because SFC sometimes wipes them out.
