running processes

when i use ctrl alt del to bring up task manager in the processes window it says 52 processes running is this amount normal average or excessive,

This question is asked on a regular basis.

To a certain extent it depends on what you allow to run at start up and how many user accounts you have.

As an example, we have 4 users on this PC.

If only one of us is logged in, there are about 38 running processes.

If all 4 are logged in, that rises to 64.

Have you used msconfig to disable some start-up programs/processes?

thanks guys processes running not causing any problems i was just curious if it was a lot a matter of if it aint broke dont fix it
