Running order of MP3's in Windows Folders

How does one set the tracks ripped from an audio CD in track number order rather than in alphabetical order in a windows folder.
I have used the 'sort by track number #' function but when reopening the folder it goes back to the alphabetical order !

All you can do is rename with 001-002etc. at the beginning.

Thanks Fruitbat. I thought that was the only way.

I'm using Windows Media Player 10. In that, via Tools, Options, Rip tab, one can specify the make-up of the file names to be used (including track number). But don't know if later versions of WMP still support this.

You dont say how you ripped them, using WMP you just click on Options-Rip Music-File Name making track number the first choice followed by whatever else you want.
