Run a Windows XP repair from Evesham Recovery CD

need urgent help!!! I was using "Eveidence Eliminator" when I asked it to do a "Safe Shutdown" it did and i can no longer boot or start windows it has deleted most of the win xp files ? I need to know how to "Repair Windows XP Home with my Evesham Recovery CD Rom, I dont want to loose any of my programmes or setups including my e-mails,that's why I want to do a Repair
I normally dont do silly things like this, but these thing happen ,
I would Appreciate any help.

It's a while since I had my Evesham pc but I think it was a full install disk with Recovery Console, Repair or Reinstall options.

Have a look here to check out the Repair Install procedure for XP and see if you get that option from your Evesham CD.

As you don't know how much of your data etc Evidence Eliminator has left behind in any case, it might be worth either slaving your hard drive in another pc or getting one of these to use with another pc to see what's left, you say you don't want to lose any of your programs etc, but you might already have done so and even if you haven't with one of these gadgets or by slaving you could copy your data from your old hard drive, just in case. Even a repair install carries a risk of losing data. Programs can always be reinstalled and might need to be.

OEM Restore disks or hidden restore folders on the hard drive will not work for an XP Repair Install is the information provided in this link I regularly post:

Cheers Stuarti,thanks for the quick responce,I have saved most of my data & settings to my wifes laptop so that I dont loose Inportant stuff. I will let you know how this pan out after my XP repair?
