Run Two Computers From One Cable Broadband Connection. Is It Possible (and is the set-up difficult??)
Got loads of excellent advise on setting up two monitors with one computer but thought for the outlay I may as well get another computer and could do with a lap-top.

Guess my original plea for assistance has expired hence this new one.

Very simple.

Buy a cable/dsl router (**NOT** and ADSL router).

Plug the cable modem into the router.

Plug the computers into the router.

Job done. You can access the internet from any computer.

If you are going to get a laptop then wireless router would be better to allow free roaming around the house and garden for the laptop.

click here any one of these will do, I have the Linksys wrt54g and have been using it for nearly 2 years without a problem on NTL now VM cable.

If you decide to go down this root and have trouble setting up start a new thread in the networking forum.

secured. If they are not, (and it is not an easy thing to figure out even if you read the manual) you may be opening your system to your neighbours.

I run three here on my NTL connection and I do not install any NTL software on the PC's. Just use the network wizard.

Hanx!
