I am putting together my dissertation for my MA which includes a survey of 30 questions which I want to include in a number pie/bar charts. I don't want to spend a fortune on SPSS or similar, does anyone know of a cheap easy to use program ? I have Surveygold on a demo but that again is over £100 for the software ...

There is a program called 'Open Office' that has a spreadsheet application as one of it's programs. I've never used it before, but seems like a worthy Microsoft Office opponent. Plus it's free!

I go along with what has been said about open office. It is free and fully compatible with MS Office.It is complete with Spreadsheet and I am fairly sure (if my memory serves me) that it has chart drawing capabilities.It is a big download but well worth the effort.
