Hi
I have a DG814 netgear router and i have a copy of halo. I am trying to host games on halo, i tried forwarding the ports they wanted. but i still have no luck.

Can anyone help i spent hours messing about and cant get ti to work.

I upgrade from firmwire 3.4 to 3.10 but the new one is causing the connection to knock off.

i also have a braodband connection and two other computers on the network and static ip address

thanks

I have the same router as you.

All I can suggest is that you go to Security, and under DMZ Server you enter your IP address (the one assinged to you by the router).

Also, Tick respond to ping.

Current firmware version is 3.9!

I think you mean 4.1!

You're right, version 4.10 firmware is pants.

Try version 4.8 firmware (this version is stable on my system) and then try DMZ, as above.

i also have norton anti virus software running 2003 version

But it doesnt work.

In dmz do u put the ip address of the router, i looked at other things and they said the computer.

also in port forwarding halo needs the ports 2302 and 2303 so i went to add custom service type in porrts 2302 to 2302 then my computer ip of 196.168.0.2 and then accept and did the same for port 2303 is this right.

cause if it is when i have it like this and try to connect to halo it always says i am unable to join and i tried loads of really good servers and all that.

guys am getting really annoyed at this i have spent ages trying to get this to work.

says my computers internal ip is different from teh external
