Router & sharing apps

I just got a netgear wireless router. I connect my main pc through the 4 port hub on the router. I have noticed that when using a filesharing program my downloads are not downloading at the same speed. Do you need to configure any router settings to use filesharing programs

Not quite sure what you mean, but the speed of downloads using filesharing programs depends on the connection of the user/computer you are downloading from.

Im on broadband, I was using a basic network hub, but have changed to a wireless router my computer is connected to this by a network cable. My downloads now go at slower speeds and struggle to get a connection. This was never the case before

You will need to check on the program support site and find out which ports you need to open on the router.

Think the problem may be linked to the fact my folder is shared accross my network. will do a few more downloads to a unshared folder.
