Router resetting

Any Ideas why the Router needs to be reset now and again? as speed falls off after weeks of use. Its like ISP capping Speed if over used, but I do not over use, and I have a 40gig allowance

Perhaps your driver needs updating. My Belkin started like that, then eventually it wouldn't work at all. So I checked and sure enough there was an update available. I installed it and it's been fine since. That was only a couple of weeks ago.
