Router connection

I have a problem with the connection of my router.
We have used it all year but in the last two weeks we have many problems in that it will not connect or drops off line.
We have three computers, two wireless laptops the router is a D-LINK DSLG804T.
The softwre tells me the router is connected and states 288kps up and 1152kps down but the ADSL light is flashing and the web sites do not connect.
The fault occurs at different times of the day.
I am with Orange, is it their end not switching in?

1st thing to check is/are the filter/s okay. Sometimes if one goes bad this is a symptom.

We have three filters.
Do you just mean the one connected directly or could any one of them drag the conection down?

Yes most likely one of your filters is faulty, will cause noise that will interfer with connection casing failure to connect or loss of connection if noise levl gets too high.

Is the router connected through the master/main BT socket or an extension?
