hi to all just put my router back on my pc plug it all in how it was b4 works fine on my laptop but wont work on my desktop can someone please help. got the cable plugged into the ethernet port, all the obvious stuff plugged in just cant get any connection on the desktop at all.

Is your ethernet enabled?

Check in devise manager.

when i unplug ethernet cable at the back of the router it tells me that its been unplugged on the computer but still theres no connection on the desktop

Can't see resetting would help if it's working OK on the laptop. Has it worked on the PC before? If not, it's probably the configuration of the PC - I'll leave the explanation of that to the experts!

Try the cable the other way round. Sounds daft I know, but it works sometimes. Worked on mine, and worked on a few others I suggested it to.

Run the CD your ISP provided you with to set up your internet connection.

done it just a restart worked fine for me dont know why but its running now thank you all anyway for your time xx
