My PC is very slow to communicate with my router, my ISP told me I need a new driver for my ethernet card but I don't know where to get it. I use windows xp professional. Any Ideas?

Go to the website of the manufacturer. To check the manufacturer may be difficult. If it is built in to the mobo, try the mobo manufacturer's website. You will (should) be able to find out who manufactured the NIC chip itself under device manager. (Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button.
