Ripping to mp3 player

I have a philips HDD120 mp3 player and wonder if i can transfer mp3's via Windows Media Player's 'Copy to CD or Device' and, if so, how? Windows Explorer is telling me i have files on the mp3 player but they aren't being recognised. As you can tell i'm new to mp3 ripping. Although i realise that i need additional software to that provided by Philips there are no instructions what i need and what to do.

Any help to a novice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

start with getting CDEX it is a free download, easy to use, as used by most users of MP3 players.. including me :-)

Thanks thisisnighthawk, i'll try that.
