Right Click Problem with Windows Explorer

  scaleo 13:44 24 Jul 05

When I am viewing files on my hard drive in Windows Explorer, if I right click on a file I get the message;

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have sent several error reports to Microsoft and have emailed them for advice, but not received anything helpful.

The content of the report is;

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 0001eb33

Anyone know what the problem is caused by and how it can be resolved?

If you are using Windows XP then Start, Run, type

sfc /scannow

and click OK. You may be asked for your Windows CD.
