Hi every1!

Can any1 pls help me, telling me where in the web can I find the file riched32.dll exactly as it is after Win 98 was installed, or give me a link to download it? (I went to, but the file there is has 3.856 bytes, and its version is 5.00.2134.1, but the one I have on my PC - win 98 - has 174,352 bytes and its version is 4.00.993.4, so I don't think it's wise to replace it).

Thanx for your help,

Have you tried SFC? Start Menu >Run>sfc>Enter.

That's one method. If its missing, it should request the Win98 CD and extract it.

A later version of the file is not USUALLY a problem.

Thanx, Brian!

The thing is (I forgot to mention) I DON'T have the Win 98 CD...

About the file versions, I'm not sure about what versions correspond / are compatible to / with what OSes, that's why I'm not sure if it's a good idea to replace my original one with the other one that is on (specially because mine is 50 odd times bigger... and I'm sure the PC hasn't got viruses).

Anyway, I'll try the SFC method, and I'll let u know.

P.S. Anyway, what does SFC do, mate?

SFC is System File Checker and it looks for missing or damaged system files and replaces them. It won't work for you if you don't have the W98 CD.

Hi Rick, I have Win98SE and my riched32.dll (version 4.00.993.4) has 171KB and is dated 15/12/1997.
If you wish I could zip it and send you a copy??
Send me an e-mail if that would help you at all.
