Restricting networked laptop bandwidth?

I have a wireless adsl router hooked to my main pc. Two laptops use the wireless connection for internet access. Is it possible to allocate a maximum bandwidth for the laptops so the main pc can keep the lions share when gaming downloading etc?

Your router may have QoS (Quality of Service) settings that allow priority to be given to certain network adapters (per their MAC address), but this is more likely to be for wired ethernet connections than for wireless.

DG834GT - is thr router if that is of help to anyone. If its not possible from the router menu is there any third party software out there that could manage this task?

I've seen this question discussed before and the conclusion was that it is done in commercial installations, but the hardware/software required is very expensive and well beyond the reach of the average home-network user.
