Restoring normal default order for listing files?

  AirToob 06:10 19 May 04

I have Windows 98SE. Using Windows Explorer I have sometimes listed files in date order rather than name order. Windows has decided that this is what I want when I use "Save As" in various programs, so I get date order listings whenever I want to save a file, which is something of a pain.

I have used Windows Explorer to list files in normal name order at all levels in the tree that I can think of, but Windows still assumes I want date order when I do anything that brings up a list of files (e.g. "save as") in different programs.

Any way of re-educating Windows to default to name order?
