restore of a word file

Is there anyway that you can restore a word ffile that has been saved over? I've accidently saved a new file over an existing one. Can I get the original back???? thanks

I think the answer is no.

You have saved the file with the same name so it has been overwritten.

nope thats not my problem, i have completely deleted the file and started to type something new over it, and have saved the new stuff. Can i get back what was on my pc before i stared to type tonight?

You say you deleted the file and then you say you have written over it.

I opened up the file to use as a template for my new document, so I deleted everything on the page, but then I should have save it as a new file, instead I just clicked save. So can i get back the original document before i saved?

You have overwritten then saved, you will not be able to recover the old file.
