RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS

Hi Guys,

I created some recovery discs for an Acer computer. However, when I loaded them to make them work they didn’t actually run themselves. I had to resort to tapping Alt and F10.

What do I do to make the discs run?

Also, the internal recovery system is on my D drive. I read somewhere that if I have got anything else on my D drive (which I have) then recovery won’t work. Is this true? Funnily enough I tried to restore to factory settings yesterday and when I tapped Alt and F10 I didn’t get the correct screen to restore.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My Acer simply needs me to boot from the recovery disk, hace you tried this?

You may need to set the BIOS to boot from the DVD/CD drive first.

As far as I know, the Acer eRecovery partition is a hidden partition which you would not see from within Windows (so one wouldn't have any other data on it).

On my Acer netbook, the recovery partition is the first partition on the disk. But Windows boots from the second partition (as C:) and I then have thre further partitions (which I have miunted as D: E: and H:)
