A friend has given me his old Emachines 420 pc to use as a spare, the only problem is that the original restore disc is missing. The hard drive has been formatted, so i was wondering if a restore disc from another pc can be used.I have an old Emachines 770 complete with original restore discs, so can i use these to restore Windows on the 420?If not, is there any solution to get this pc up and running again?

Ther restore disk will be tailored to the specific PC with all the relevant drivers included.

However it would be worth a try if there is any way you can list all the hardware and pick up all the drivers from their manufacturer's sites and install them via a Floppy or just possibly CD Drive.
