Can anybody advise how to restart a mouse without rebooting? MS Optical Mouse connected via KVM switch to 4 acting servers. One server on W2K SP4, rest on XP Pro SP2.

If it is a PS2 mouse- then It will only start at boot up that the bug of PS2 mice and keyboards
So set the KVA to the device you want to work with then boot it.

If it's on a KVM then it will need to be rebooted to be recognised.

I had the same problem and had to reboot 12 servers
