restart on first bootup

I have just reinstalled windows and find that my problem of restarting from first boot up from cold is still prevalent. I have scoured the net looking for answers and seem to find in most instances that it is possibly the power supply unit that is the most likely cause of the problem..any suggestions would be most appreciated..

what exactly do you mean by a problem

The problem I am having is when I start up my pc from cold, after a few hours.I get the usual boot up and when it gets to the desktop it then reboots. this sometimes happens a couple of times before it reboots correctly and then it is plain sailing and i get no further trouble. I am wondering if this could be due to a psu that is on it's way out.
