After formatting and re-installing Windows 98 SE,
I cannot get 'plug and play' monitor installed by going through Control Panel - Add New Hardware. The computer keeps defaulting to Default Monitor.
I have re-installed the VIA 4in1 drivers from the motherboard setup CD, and have re-installed my 3DFX Voodoo 3 2000 AGP graphics card which is working properly, but still to no avail. Can anybody help?

Try right clicking the desktop and choosing Properties/settings/advanced/monitor/properties, then the "Driver" tab. Select "Update driver from there and follow the on-screen instructions. j.

What exactly is the problem you have with the "Default monitor" setting??
