I am trying to revert to the my previous settings for my monitor which is an LG Flatron W2234S(22").For some reason when booted up it was set at 800x600 'big icons!'.When I try to adjust it it comes up with a dialogue box 'out of range' and numeric refresh rates.I am running Windows 7 with a Geoforce 7300S.
How do i get back to a higher resolution without getting this error dialogue...have tried safe mode and system restore ..no joy.
There was an eralier thread on the forum I looked at but seemed inconclusive

Thanks in advance

Windows 7 is outside my sphere so far.
However, I think the display drivers may not be doing their stuff.
If so the computer is trying to give you a default image from the integrated video part of the motherboard.

If Control Panel > Systems > Hardware> Device Manager applies in W7, then see what shows under Display Adapters.
If there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, your system either cannot find the GForce7300s, either the drivers have become corrupt or the card itself has come adrift or died.
