Resizing single "pdf" pages for printing

Strive as I do, I am unable to resize pictures in "pdf" format for printing. I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 software which creates pdf files from doc, jpg, tif files etc., and crops, rotates, enables one to string a succession of pdf pages together etc., etc.. But when I want to reduce a picture in pdf format from say 200 x 200mm square to say 125 x 125mm square, it won't then print out at the smaller size. It insists on printing out at the original larger size.
What do I need to do to print out at the smaller size?

I think you will need to specify the page size in the printer as user defined, in the page set up, and then ensure that the shrink/expand to fit paper size are ticked in the print box

Hi, where are you setting the smaller print size?
Your printer preferences should determine the size of the actual print.

Why are you using Acrobat 5 when the current version is 8? That has rather more options.
