Resizing a picture to less pixels

  Gizmocat 08:57 01 May 05

I wish to resize a picture which is over 1000 x 1000 to 100 x 120 pixels to upload onto a forum.

Is this possible and how do I do it?
It is in JPEG format

You can download this app. for free click here and under image menu click resize/resample. Or if you have another picture editing app. you should be able to do the same on that.

That's extremely small, unless it's for an avatar. Most editing progs will do this, including the aformentioned irfanview, but I would reccomend jpeg resizer, approx 30 sec download click here,

.."aspect ratios". This is the relationship between the width and height of your image.

If your original image is 1000 x 1000 then it is a square image. If you make it 100 x 120 then it becomes more rectangular.

Imagine stretching a square photo to be a rectangular photo - features etc. get stretched and can look odd. Might not make a big difference when so small.

I use this. click here
I find it very good,It adds an option to the r/click menu, it also has a box to customize the size.
