reserved system space

Hi - I just bought a new 250gb hard drive for video only. I've also noticed it's only showing 233gb with some 'reserved system space'. Is there any way to free up the missing 17gb? My operating system is on another drive. Thanks

The "reserved space" will be the info for filesystem, etc, and its unlikely you will be able to use it.

If you need those extra 17Gbs,what for? As most video's I have loaded onto my PC(even in .AVI)are still only around 12Gbs per hour, surely your not going to have a 233Gb video file?
