Replacing Nvidia graphics card

PC World are doing a bank holiday special on a PNY GeForce FX5200 AGP 128 Mb graphics card and I might treat myself. My present card is a GeForce 3 AGP 64 Mb. I am using the latest Detonator 40 driver 45.23 which is the same driver as the FX5200. My question is whether I can simply swap the cards over without having to delete the driver and re-install. Can life be that simple?

You can but the FX 5200 isnt much better (if at all) than your GF3 you know. You would need at least a GF4 Ti, GF FX5600 or 9600 Pro for a substantial improvment. The FX 5200 is pretty cack.

Thanks for that The Sack. That explains the bargain price! Perhaps I'll save up a bit longer.
